PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Authorities in Philadelphia are investigating the death of a 21-year-old pregnant woman following a brawl outside traffic court, according to police.The incident happened on 8th and Spring Garden at about 2 p.m. Investigators say the victim was with another man at the Philadelphia Traffic Court resolving issues with unpaid parking tickets. Upon leaving the court, she and her companion were confronted by two other men. A physical altercation ensued.
“People were just shocked. It happened so fast that you couldn’t really do anything about it,” said Latrice Cooper, an eyewitness.
The victim sustained severe injuries and was taken to Hahnemann Hospital where she was pronounced dead at about 3:30 p.m, police say.
A traffic court official was able to grab one of the men involved and he is being questioned by detectives.
Detectives are also reviewing surveillance video of the scene. It is not clear whether their have been any arrests at this time. This is just sad.:
