The official version of Pusha T’s My God was released recently and though it was well-received by fans, fellow G.O.O.D. Music rapper Consequence took to Twitter to accuse the Virginia-bred lyricist of copying his style to create the single.
[box type="shadow"]“I have inspired so many…n*ggas keep emulating my yesterday flows,” wrote Consequence before adding, “My God I wish these clowns would stop stealing my lines…from certain rappers I expect a higher standard.”

When asked about Consequence calling him out though Pusha seemed confused by the notion, and denied that he stole anything from the New York rapper.
“He said that I stole his lines? Wow. Nah, I haven’t really heard much about it,” said Pusha during an interview with Complex. “Everyone who’s been hitting me up has been telling me how crazy this song is. I don’t know. I mean, I haven’t taken anything from Consequence, or anybody else, for that matter.”
Consequence’s relationship with G.O.O.D. Music has apparently soured over the last few months. The rapper, who often collaborated with Kanye West, released a song titled Man Purses in the winter of last year that contained subtle disses towards the crew, including the line, “My crew ain’t been the same since Amber Rose and Taylor Swift.”
UPDATE -
Cons starts getting specific about the accusations he made against Pusha T about plagiarism.
Consequence has finally fully explained why he put labelmate Pusha T on blast for what he claims to be plagiarism on Pusha's latest song "My God." Cons took to Twitter this past week to speak out on rappers "stealing my lines."
Pusha T flippantly brushed off the accusations, assuring, "I haven't taken anything from Consequence, or anybody else for that matter." Well, now Cons has taken to KarmaloopTV to explain why he thinks Pusha bit his lyrics.
"I had a record called 'Last Supper' that Kanye [West] wanted me to get Pusha to do a verse on when 'everything was everything,'" Cons said. "So naturally I gave him my record, him being at the time my labelmate. Not to mention, I've known Pusha longer than I've known Kanye, for the record."
He said that the record hadn't been touched during the next few months, as he'd been busy with other projects. However, after hearing Pusha's "My God" online, he claims he heard similarities with his own "Last Supper."
"[My God's] beat is good, the first verse, cool. [I thought], 'He's doing his Pusha thing, word!' So we get through to the second verse and I hear 'It's the last supper for you niggas, just the picture repainted.' So I'm like, hold up, my record had went, 'Cudi got the kids, Cons got the streets, 'Ye got the globe, so we all going to eat/it's the last supper for you muthafuckas, I don't make a promise I can't keep.'"
Cons seems to have taken issue with the line "it's the last supper," and suggests that Pusha T's use of it comes directly from the record that had been given to him. Pusha T has not yet responded to Consequences recent claims.
Very nice blog.I like this and will come back very soon.
ReplyDeleteI'm very excited about your following post. Thanks again for making such high quality content.
ReplyDeleteGreat article glad I found it when I did I would have been lost without it.
ReplyDeleteMy mom always says that I should look my best whenever I go out and for her generation that means make up, a blow out, heels and great bag. Puh-leeze. Im a thirty-something mom of 5 who may be short on time but not on spending power. I shouldnt have to advertise what I can or cant afford in order to deserve good service. A different rant from yours but rude is rude and we customers never should stand for it.
ReplyDeleteI think youve got something good here. But what if you shed a couple links to a page that backs up what youre saying? Or maybe you could give us something to look at, I could revisit & read more sometime soon?2
