Gate Five LLC sued the Grammy Award-winning singer Tuesday in New York. The lawsuit says she made a lucrative agreement in June for a game called "Starpower: Beyonce," then demanded a new deal and abruptly abandoned the project.
Her publicist and the company's lawyer didn't immediately respond to inquiries.
The lawsuit says Beyonce's maneuvering drove a backer away and destroyed Gate Five's business. Gate Five says it lost its nearly $7 million investment in the venture and more than $100 million in potential profits, and 70 people lost their jobs.
