H.U.G aka Hug Bear was born and raised in Philadelphia, the city of Brotherly Love. H.U.G., which stands for Heat Under Gut, grew up in South Philly, but has run the streets in South-West and West Philly. At an early age, HUG knew that he had a gift for music. While he was working on his craft in his early years as an MC, he was influenced by the likes of B.I.G., Nas, and Tupac.

While success has only been a step away and the industry changing in recent times, HUG has realized that he must work independently to create his own fan base. Recently, he has released his new single “Supaman” and has performed at Rain Lounge, Cooz, Cobre Lounge, and Parkside Lounge in Philadelphia. He plans on releasing a second single, “Please Leave”, soon, as well as his mixtape/album, “Wait Till They Get a Load of Me”. Fans can find music from HUG either online, in the street, or at their local Chinese food restaurant.
