Finally there is something else to do in an elevator besides avert your eyes from fellow passengers by staring at the number display. One such elevator in a London office building got a lift with the installation of edible wallpaper.
The walls of the world's first lickable elevator were lined with 1,325 Jaffa Cakes, a light sponge cake covered in crackly chocolate with "orangey bits" made by the McVities company — an endeavor that took four weeks to install. The senior brand manager of McVitie's told The Drum that this was, "the perfect way to get a little joy straight to stressed out office workers."
Passengers may crawl or stand on their tippy-toes to get their tongues on all the cookie-cakes, but no worries, the Jaffa Cakes are refreshed you won't pass any cooties to fellow office mates.
If you stepped into an elevator with cookie-lined wallpaper, would you take a lick?
