Rick Ross and Jay Z Prove 'The Devil Is a Lie' (BLOG)

Rick Ross and Jay Z hold nothing back on their new collaboration, "The Devil Is a Lie," a suitably monstrous cut from Ross' upcoming LP Mastermind propelled by trap percussion and a somber horn sample. The Bawse's braggadocio is as gleefully hyperbolic as ever – as he puts it, his car seats still smell like ten keys, and you may find him out in Dubai doing it like a sheik – while Jay musters up the fire of his younger, hungrier days while still asserting that he's a king, despite the claims of all challengers to his throne.
"The Devil Is a Lie" is the second single off Mastermind, which was originally slated for release back on December 17th but is now scheduled for early next year. The first single off the record was "No Games," which features Future on the hook and had a wild video packed with images of shootings and car crashes, ostensibly recalling the drive-by shooting Ross survived back in January. "I'mma live my life and I'mma do what I love to do, and that's make music," he said after the incident.
This is Ross and Jay's second collaboration this year, with the former jumping on the latter's "FuckWithMeYouKnowIGotIt" off Magna Carta… Holy Grail. Jay also hopped on Ross' "3 Kings" – as did Dr. Dre – on the Maybach Music honcho's last album, 2012's God Forgives, I Don't.
