Fans who are heading to Austin for theSXSW conference just might get to seeLady Gaga perform after all. Last week the singer was denied a permit to play at the Doritos 56-foot vending machine-shaped #BoldStage on the corner of 5th and Red River Streets, so she has remedied that by setting up a gig at the outdoor stage at Stubb's on March 13, which will become the temporary home of the #BoldStage that night. However, getting a ticket will be tricky: Gaga and Doritos are challenging fans to perform a series of "Bold Missions," which are set to be revealed on Doritos.com in the days leading up to the March 13 performance. In a YouTube video unveiling the campaign, Gaga spoke of the first Bold Mission.
"We're calling it Bold Bravery. I want you to share a picture or a video that expresses your individuality through a bold action," she says. "What bold thing have you done that makes you stand out?" Fans can share their pictures and videos using the hashtags #BoldBravery and #BoldStage and uploading it to Instagram, Twitter or Vine. Select winners will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to the show, while other "bold" missions will be provided by Doritos on-site that will allow fans entry into the show.
"The ARTPOP performance at SXSW will be a completely one-off set and experience," Gaga toldRolling Stone. "I've been dreaming of this moment. It's all about the music and the connection with the crowd, and I want the audience in Austin to see me live in a way I never have before. I love theatrics, but I started out singing at a piano with a Bud Light in a bikini. Performing at Stubb's is a real blast from my past, I can't wait to celebrate with the audience how far music can go when we believe and stick together. It's moments like these that I live for."
