Drake and San Francisco rapper Rappin’ 4-Tay have settled their beef.
According to TMZ, Drizzy forked over a large amount of dough for stealing 4-Tay’s lyrics on YG’s “Who Do You Love.”
4-Tay first put Drake on blast back in January when the track was released and the YMCMB rapper clearly ripped off lyrics from 4-Tay’s 1994 hit “Playaz Club.”
Although no lawsuit was ever filed, sources tell TMZ 4-Tay was offended Drake didn’t give him credit on the song.
4-Tay’s manager tells the site Drake’s record label agreed to pay 4-Tay $100,000 for “borrowing” the lines.
As previously reported by MStars, 4-Tay initially took to Twitter to address his issue with Drake.
“New Song w/ @YG Feat @Drake In This Song Drake Copys My Lyrics & Lines From My PlayazClub Song & Pays No Homage! ???,” he tweeted with a YouTube link to YG’s song.
In his verse, Drake raps, “”I got a shorty name Texas and/She got a buddy name Young JB and now you know the deal/We turnt up in the studio late night/That’s why the songs that you hear are comin’ real tight.”
Extremely close to 4-Tay’s “I got a ho named Reel-to-Reel /She got a buddy named SP 12, now you know the deal/We gets freaky in the studio late night/That’s why the beats that you hear are coming real tight.”
4-Tay took to Twitter and Instagram to celebrate his lucrative victory. He even tweeted out information for setting up press interviews.
