Lamar Odom is reportedly in a coma after being found unconscious Tuesday at a Nevada brothel. (ESPN) The former NBA star and ex-husband of Khloe Kardashian apparently had been partying since arriving alone Saturday and checking into a VIP suite at Bunny Love Ranch in Pahrump, Nevada. RadarOnline quotes sources as saying Odom drank and popped herbal Viagra while "enjoying the company of women." Although Odom has a history of substance abuse problems, Bunny Love Ranch owner Dennis Hof told E! News that no illicit drugs were found in his suite. He also noted that Odom appeared to be in a good mood and that the staff thought "that he was the same Lamar that they saw on his television show." (AP Photo/Marcio Jose Sanchez, File) ( Marcio Jose Sanchez ) But reality took on a whole different meaning when Odom was discovered unconscious by two women at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday. "He was foaming at the mouth," Hof reportedly told E! News. "There was some blood coming out of him. The 911 operator asked them to turn him on his left side and of course he's a big guy, so it was a big challenge." Hof added, "They did that and a lot of stuff started coming out of him. He started throwing up and they say it was a horrifying sight. Then the paramedics took over." News of Odom's hospitalization prompted a Kardashian family source to say it "isn't shocking but it is sad." Odom and ex-wife Khloe Kardashian reportedly haven't been in communication since the summer. And while many NBA players and celebrities took to social media to wish Odom a speedy recovery, Cleveland Cavaliers' J.R. Smith either knows more than we do or falsely believes Odom died. "RIP LO damn man I can't believe this," Smith wrote on Instagram, accompanying a photo of Odom from his playing days at the University of Rhode Island. " ... If this isn't a sign I don't know what is!!! This life is so much bigger then basketball and any other sport! I can't imagine what he was going through but I know he could have had some better people in his corner! Life doesn't care how much money you made or how man(y) championships you have when its time to go it's time to go! Some people say 'it's easy to be happy you have millions!' With all the money that comes trust an believe it comes with just as much heartache! Learning a balance is key never get to high on the highs an never get to low on the lows! #RIPLO" Ann Tatko-Peterson provides celebrity commentary for the Bay Area News Group.
