Madonna Slams Claims That She Was Drunk or High on Stage

The queen has spoken. On Tuesday, March 15, Madonnaslammed claims she had performed under the influence during the Australian leg of her Rebel Heart Tour. The “Living for Love” singer took to Instagram to put rumors to rest.
“Thanks for supporting me. Too bad people don't know the art of acting and playing a character,” the pop diva, 57, wrote alongside a screenshot of a supportive Facebook post from a fan named Remington Graves. “I could never do any of my shows high or drunk.”
Graves noted that, over the course of her 30-plus year career, Madge has always taken “meticulous” care of her body and would never be able to execute one of her high-energy performances if she was drinking or doing drugs. He then went on to say that the accusations against Madonna were sexist — a point that she couldn’t agree with more.
“And yes underlying all of this is sexism and misogyny which proves that not only do we not get equal pay bUt we are still treated like heretics if we step out of line and think outside the box!,” she continued. “Sexism is alive and kicking but i am ❤️#livingforlove”
Madonna’s response comes after several media outlets reported that the seven-time Grammy winner had boozy onstage “meltdowns” during concerts in Melbourne this past weekend.
In free shows at the Forum, the entertainer took the stage dressed as a clown, rode a tricycle, falling over, appeared to take shots from a flask and reportedly called her ex-husband Guy Ritchie a “son of a bitch.” But it’s all just part of the act, a source confirms to Us Weekly.
While her clown bit may just be theatrics, Madonna has certainly gotten real with her fans during her world tour. The mom of four spoke about her love for sonRocco, 15, during a sold-out show in New Zealand on March 4.
While singing “La Vie en Rose,” she told the audience: “That is my son, who I mentioned earlier. He is actually 15, and it’s true, there is no love stronger than a mother for her son.”
Holding back tears, the songstress added, “If I talk about him too much, I might cry,” as her fans cheered her on in support.
As Us Weekly previously reported, Madonna has been fighting to reunite with her eldest son since December, when he left her Rebel Heart tour to live with his father Ritchie, 47, in London. On March 2, a judge ordered the former couple — who divorced in 2008 — to come to an agreement to end the custody battle out of court.
“Madonna and Rocco have been talking,” a source exclusively revealed toUs. “They are trying to mediate themselves.”
The source added, “Rocco has been the one reaching out to Madonna. She and Guy are not on speaking terms.”
Madonna is also the mother of Lourdes, 19, and David and Mercy, both 10.

Run for the hills, Higgins! Bachelor fans were devastated for JoJo Fletcher whenBen Higgins proposed to Lauren Bushnell on the season 20 finale on Monday, March 14, but they also found humor in the dramatic and emotional split. Following Higgins' difficult decision, Bachelor Nation teased that Fletcher'soverprotective brothers Ben and Matt would come back with a vengeance.
One of the biggest highlights on this season of The Bachelor was when Higgins, 26, met Fletcher's family during their hometown date. The Denver native was fairly well-received by her parents, Soraya and Joseph, but brutally critiqued by her siblings.
"You brainwash these girls way too much, man. To see my sister like that … she’s obviously starting to have real emotional feelings, but I don’t get the same read [from you],” Matt said at the time. "There's also that God-given intuition, that two-second thing that we've all been given. And I don't know if you were coached on your answer, or what it is, but just as a brother, I think you can appreciate that [I heard you say] … 'There's four girls — I can't give you guys anything.' So when I hear that as a brother, I'm like, 'Dude, my sister is way more into this guy than he is into her.'"
Higgins was surprised by the pushback. The awkward visit left Fletcher in tears and Higgins shaky about their relationship, though he later went on to say "I love you" to both Fletcher and Bushnell.
The cringeworthy incident also left a lasting impression on viewers. "Ben plans on marrying Lauren B. tonight because he knows JoJo's brothers have started the manhunt to kill him. #TheBachelor," one commenter wrote following the finale on Monday night.
A second added: "You know JoJo's brothers are both there in case they need to jump Ben after the show. #TeamJoJo @JoelleFletcher."
