In "Redemption," directed by Taika Waititi, Mando (Pedro Pascal), Cara Dune (Gina Carano), and Greef Karaga (Carl Weathers) are pinned down by Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito), the real villain of season 1, and his army of troopers. "Redemption" opens with the two scout troopers lounging outside of the town with Baby Yoda as they wait for orders from Moff. The two scout troopers hilariously banter back and forth, taking (and missing) shots at a nearby piece of junk. Unfortunately, they also take turns punching Baby Yoda as it moves in one of the scout trooper's pouches. Before the scout troopers can turn in Baby Yoda, IG-11 (voiced by Waititi), who is now a nurse-droid, shows up and demands the scout troopers give up Baby Yoda. When they refuse, IG-11 quickly kills both scout troopers.
The Star Wars franchise often uses actors in hidden cameos and The Mandalorian is no different. In the third episode titled, "The Sin," The Mandalorian creator Jon Favreau voiced Paz Vizla, a fellow Mandalorian. In the finale, the two scout troopers are voiced by two comedians, Jason Sudeikis and Adam Pally.
Jason Sudeikis As Bike Scout Trooper #1
In an entertaining cameo, Bike Scout Trooper #1 is voiced by actor Jason Sudeikis. Trooper #1 is the person who scoops up Baby Yoda and carries him back to the town. Sudeikis's character is reluctant to show Baby Yoda to his fellow trooper and insults him in the process. As Baby Yoda squirms in his pouch and makes noise, Trooper #1 repeatedly punches The Child. Sudeikis rise to stardom happened while on Saturday Night Live, where he was a cast member from 2005-2013 before departing the hit series. Besides starring in movies such as We're the Millers and Horrible Bosses, Sudeikis has voiced Red in The Angry Birds franchise.
Adam Pally As Bike Scout Trooper #2
The second trooper paired with Sudeikis is Adam Pally, who plays Bike Scout Trooper #2. In The Mandalorian, Pally plays the less intelligent trooper who desperately wants to look at Baby Yoda. While waiting for orders, Pally's character attempts to shoot a piece of junk, but hilariously misses the target every time. Pally is known for his roles in Happy Endings and The Mindy Project. In 2020, Pally will have a role in the live-action Sonic the Hedgehog movie.
