Kim Kardashian West is used to the world having something to say about her. Since she was thrust into the spotlight in 2007, the reality queen has learned to weather the storm of gossip surrounding her relationships, body, business dealings, and family.
Though the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star used to be a lot quieter when it came to dealing with backlash — the mom of four has gotten a lot bolder in recent years when it comes to clapping back and sticking up for herself.
If you’ve been paying attention, then you know that there are several catastrophic events happening across the globe. The wildfires in Australia, the tension between the United States and Iran, overall global warming, racism, sexism, and other issues are simmering on the verge of explosion. Still, that hasn’t stopped some celebrities and influencers like the KarJenners from pressing ahead with business and usual.
The Australian wildfires are horrific
Though we’ve seen the devastation of wildfires in states like California, the Australian wildfires are terrifying and haunting. The fires have resulted from climate change. According to the New York Times, “record-breaking heat, drought, and high wind conditions” in Australia have brought on a horrifying fire season which has covered over 15 million acres of land.
Nearly half a billion animals have died, and there have been viral photos of the burnt orange sky in the country. People across the globe and celebrities have encouraged people to donate and support firefighters and those who are trying their best to help and evacuate the remaining wildlife and people who have been left behind.

Kim Kardashian tweeted about the Australian wildfires
While her younger sister, Kylie Jenner, was getting a lot of flack about her silence on the Australian wildfires, Kim Kardashian did tweet “climate change is real.” She included a earth and a broken heart emoji. However, fans were offended, especially since her lavish lifestyles (ie: private flights) have helped (in a very small way) to contribute to climate change.
One Twitter user snapped, “It’s real but not, like, real enough for anyone ‘important’ to stop living lavish lifestyles that contribute to it.” Another sarcastically added, “Just wish we knew someone who had the finances to help.” Finally, someone just got fed up and said, “Nothing gets me more heated than to see the Kardashians/Jenners talk about climate change/wildfires & not donate even a penny.”
Yikes.
Kim Kardashian clapped back at fans who claimed she didn’t donate to the Australian Wildfires
While some celebrities like Chris Hemsworth have publically pledged money to the cause — other people have kept their donations private. Therefore the KKW Beauty mogul got fed up when she was accused of jumping on the bandwagon without actually donating anything.
She said, “Nothing gets me more heated than to see people think they know what we donated to and to think we have to publicize everything.”
Unfortunately, that didn’t actually geet fans off her back. One fan quipped, “You publicize everything else tho AND STILL WEAR FUR…AND TAKE PRIVATE JETS…wild.” Another added, “Given you share literally everything else about your life, yes we do expect you to publicize it because your delusional stans might be inspired too.”
This seems like a no-win situation.
